Has anyone ever noticed that religious beliefs also effects apperance?
Being a student of most belief systems( 20 yrs.) I have noticed that Afterdeathlifers have a certain Aura; also the Clothing and Hair Styles look uglyfying simular. [unsure]

People that believe in Truth/Physical Immortality look special; they are special, they are the elect, the geniuses, the choosen people*

When I log on to this Site, I enter a diffrent world, the world of Sanity!!

BJK and wannabe, you both are very handsome. Immortality and Beauty are inseparable [?] [B)]

[huh]

I do not, by any stretch consider myself "chosen". Immortalist are no ‘better’ than anyone else.... we're all trying to help each other here. Some of us just don't have the background or the environment that precludes immortalist thinking.

If anything, we immortalist are the underdogs. Leon Kass and the deathist majority are in control right now. Our job is to help reveal possibilities, anything other than death should be a pretty good option.. yet many people stick to the tried and true, even if it kills them.

In terms of looks, I am subject to human instincts, and try to make myself look healthy and disease free. However, I resist thinking that simply looking good will get me to immortality. All people, beautiful or not, will die if not for the help of technology and cryonics, etc.

Discussing looks is an incredibly subjective topic. The main reason for posting my mug as an avatar, is to help others recognize me at future meat-space events.. even if they don't remember my name maybe they’ll remember what I look like.

The eyes of each human being reveal much of their being. To look into that deep - sometimes unknown - cavern is to venture into various worlds - some full of beauty, and others hideous and evil.

Look into their eyes, and realize the state, the color, the depth.
Listen to their tone and pitch of their voice, and follow the muscles of their face as they express emotion.

Then - silently - back away and remember the moment and learn from it.

Frankly I REALLY don't want to join the LONG list of people making this particular claim. Nor do I believe it to be remotely true.

No, frankly I don't. I have many friends who believe in a life after death. I can assure you that their clothing and their hair styles are quite different from each other as are their 'auras'

Fruit Immortal QUOTE
Immortality and Beauty are inseparable.

Are ugly people not worthy of immortality? What about the facially disfigured? Can they aspire to immortality? What other characteristics are inseperable from beauty in your value system?

I think that the equating of physical beauty with moral or intellectual excellence is utterly eroneous. Such assumptions come naturally to humans, but need to be fiercely resisted.
After the aging process, our propensity to form such value judgements is probably one of my least favorite aspects of our evolutionary heritage.

Given the choice between forming an opinion of others based on their eyes or based on their actions and the views they hold, I choose the latter.

Let's focus entirely on delivery and forget about content... great! What a revolutionary concept.
