Could a place on the forum be dedicated to wikis? For example, each thread might be given a wiki thread. this might be used as a way of organizing information on the thread into a comprehensive document on the thread.

 

After threads grow to a certain size they start to become too large to navigate easily. A wiki would be one way to allow threads to easily impart the wisdom from a thread. (Perhaps a thread Wiki could link back to the thread, and a wiki might have an index of words linked back to the thread.)

There are three wiki-like options for organising information:  

1) Members can collaboratively edit articles on the Portal

2) The forum-wide keywords can be edited by Members 

3) Users can add 'tags' to a thread, even if its not their own
