Comparing 1lb of powder to 1lb of leaves/roots:

What is more cost effective in relation to efficacy? I'd assume powder would be better in that regard, but I am not entirely sure.

I am looking to buy another batch of bulk organic Ashwagandha, Astragalus, Rhodiola, and Ginger (from Organic Matters or Mountain Rose Herbs). I have always bought powder in the past, but I am curious to try the leaves/roots instead, and then subsequently chewing and sucking on them; I want to know if it would be a waste of money.

Thanks!

Can someone put this in the 'Supplements' forum? I didn't mean for the post to go in the Retailer section.
