The worlds dentists are happy. It was and is a nice material to work with since it does not fall out easily once fitted. And once the Amalgam-hysteria got started a lot dentists had the lovely opportunity to fill their schedules with patients who wanted to remove these fillings and replace them with composite plastics. (Plastics that might contain god knows what).
I think many people with completely different problems funnel their trouble into their fillings. I have met a couple of people who came into my room and lament that they were very troubled by their amalgam fillings only to find out that they did not have any once they opened their mouth, in some cases not even any fillings at all
Personally I'm not sure what to believe. I don't want any amalgam fillings, if I used any material in my own mouth it would be gold, if possible. Preferably, nothing at all.

The usual composite fillings contain bisphenol A. I agree- an intact tooth is the best option. I have some ceramic crowns that are a pretty reasonable option. But yeah, I'd wager that it's a lot more than 'many' people whose problems are due to something other than fillings. More like nearly all of them. I could believe that there is a small number of people who have particular problems with defective mercury metabolism combined with too many Hg fillings. I guess all of them have managed to find Longecity...
