There are so many different brands of L-Tryptophan out there ! And many brands are either deemed impure or ineffective,

I tried Doctor's Best, and it left me dehydrated with red eyes in the morning... I don't think that's a natural reaction to pure product !

Could you please recommend to me a very good and reliable source for it ?

Does Anyone at all have experience with it ? Powder is fine

Did you find a good source? I'm looking for cost-effective and good quality, powder is great.

I can't think of one good reason to take tryptophan.

PeaceAndProsperity, I used to hold the same opinion, since supplemental tryptophan has been shown not to increase serotonin in the CNS. In the last year, I concluded it might help with my unique biochemistry, but other things have been a higher priority, so I haven't tried it yet. Due to memory issues, I don't remember exactly why I believe it'll help me, I'll have to do the research again.

Plain old Now Foods' L-Tryptophan was prescribed to me a long time ago to take pre-bed as an antidepressant.  It didn't help much in that regard, but it definitely gave me that spacey SSRI feeling at 2g.  I made the mistake once of taking it in the morning, and it was not a productive day.  I no longer take it.

It is literally THE worst amino acid to willfully take. Even having too much of it in meat gives side-effects.

Interesting assertion, care to back it up?
