Society is making strides but doctors are still far behind when it comes to giving trans people the treatment they ask for and the respect they deserve, says Jessica Hamzelou

"1 in 5 general practitioners are refusing trans people treatments such as hormone therapy"

The hormones are not harmless drugs. You may die easy from overdosing hormones. Its not like taking vitamins. They are prescribed for a real medical reason. Being a homosexusal is not such a reason. 1 in 5 doctors say the true, others simply doesn't care and take the money of the homosexuals.

Fake problem.  First of all, if 4 out of 5 doctors are willing to give a trans patient hormones, that's not going to stop someone from getting hormones.  More importantly, shouldn't this really be done by a specialist?  Would you expect an opthalmologist or a proctologist to be expert at managing such cases?   As a rough estimate, 0.3% of the US population is trans, FWIW.
