Hello guys.

I am currently working on my personal regimen for reversing Polycystic Kidney Disease.

After experiencing slow, but steady growth of kidney cysts for all my life,

since I started on the bulletproof diet and some supplements,

my cysts have begun to shrink again. Yay- this is unheard of, needless to say.

As I still don't 100% know what caused it, I can only guess based on the research out there.

Cyst growth seems to be similar to cancer, as inhibition of mTOR with Rapamycin has led to shrinkage in some studies.

This is all I could find that inhibits cyst growth:

·         Inhibit mTOR

·         Increase Ca2+

·         Inhibit HDACs

·         Inhibit SIRT1

·         Boost AMPK

·         Boost p53 (Apoptosis Signal)

·         Block STAT3

·         induce autophagy

·         Minimize Carbohydrate Intake

Obviously, some of these are intertwined, and also contrary to each other. For example, raising AMPK raises SIRT1.

What I currently do:

  • fast 15-18 hours per day
  • lots of grass fed butter for butyrate's HDAC inhibition
  • lots of green organic veggies for butyrate's HDAC inhibition
  • 1 cup of bulletproof coffee in the morning for mtor inhibition
  • protein fast 1 day per week for autophagy
  • High Intensity Interval Training (fasted) for mtor inhibition
  • 800mg CurcuWin+Ginkgolide B (blocking MAPK signaling pathway, m-TOR signaling pathway. up-regulating Ca2+)
  • Magnesium&Potassium Aspartate, Calcium gluconate for blood pressure and possible effects of aspartic acid
  • Up to 2000mg Niacinamide daily for SIRT1 inhibition (gives me stomach ache, so stopped)
  • Apple Cider Vinegar for Seasoning to boost AMPK
  • 3-5 minutes of Near Infrared Light on the back to kill off pathogens accumulating in the kidney
  • reducing total toxic burden to a minimum

What I need now, is to see if I can do anything more (oxaloacetate comes to mind) and when best to take what for optimal results.

What about SIRT1? The interaction with AMPK concerns me. What to do best? Inhibit while fasting and boost while eating?

If you know someone with PKD, lead them to this thread, all of these supplements are beneficial to most people anyway.

·         Block STAT3

Hello there,

Thank you for that post. Here is a list of supplements I take, in addition to Keto diet and 1 week fasting every few months :

reishi, maitake, shiitake, Cordyceps

curcuma
resveratrol
gluthation
CQ 10
axathanthin
quercetin
20 chinese médecine plants prescribed to me, I could give you the list (all names in chinese)

I don't take all of them everyday, but it could give you some ideas.

I am curious to know what else you figure out in the last 6 years :)

I would only use things that have long term effects and not just short term. You cant fix a long term problem with a short term solution.

Sure. Do you have some insights on how to manage this disease long term ?
