Which? Why? What adaptogens are generally recommended/favored? Is there anything else I need to know?

Panax Ginseng - seems to have the most supporting research.

Yes? I feel just the opposite. I was unable to find any relevant research about Ginseng, but Ashwagandha really works for neurogenesis 1 2 3 4 5 6 and Rhodiola for longevity 1 2 3 4.

This is all the research, I was asking for relevant research. I've read about the three herbs a lot and I've find that Ginseng is the least impressive.

depends very much on what specific effects you're looking for. all three herbs are very different, and each have certain benefits that the other might not have.  do the research and decide what particular effects you're looking for.

basic and rather unscientific breakdown of primary effects would be something like: panax ginseng for attention, mood, and sexual energy. rhodiola for depression and endurance, ashwagandha for stress, anxiety, general well-being.
