PRP cost no more than a few cents, if whom performs it has to pay for his new Porsche is another matter.
It is effective, it likely isn't able to turn a desert into a jungle but I can't see any more effective or even comparable effectiveness alternative at the time being.
Aconita,
The procedure described in Nate's post is this.
The blood sample is taken and is specially prepared by spinning down the blood cells to a high concentration using a state-of-the art PRP preparation device. After a double-centrifugation process, the platelets and other vital growth proteins are carefully extracted from the sample. Under anesthesia, a special micro needling device is used to stimulate the dermis of the scalp. This micro needling stimulation causes microtrauma to the dermis that induces other healing and growth repair cells into action. The highly concentrated platelet rich plasma (PRP) is then injected into the scalp and applied topically.
You don't mean that this can be cheap, do you? Actually even extracting PRP is not that cheap as far as I know. I looked into it for a weightlifting injury and even after shopping around it was not very affordable. Is it done cheaply anywhere?
And we would have get the PRP right into the scalp for it to have any effect on hair, right?
