Through personal experience with mentally ill people and also through research I repeatedly found that both Ginseng and St Johns Wort can induce psychosis.

Why is this not common knowledge?

I have no idea how it does that but I assume as Serotonin (St Johns Worth) and Dopamine (Ginseng) agonists they bring NT levels to dangerous levels. When someone has a slow MAO enzyme this means they will quickly go into peak Serotonin or Dopamine mode and that could induce psychosis.

Especially Ginseng seems to be more trouble than it's worth.

Edit: Ginkgo and Maca seem to be less dangerous and are also immune modulatory
