I like glycine but it is too strong

Glycine is incredible. I take it in large doses especially as it is needed for production of collagen (for my skin and joints). It certainly helps with those things for me. The problem is that no matter when I take it, it lasts into the next day and causes brain fog and almost a drugged feeling (like a super slight sedative). But I still want to take it specifically for the effects on collagen and joints, especially since my diet is low protein for the methionine restriction benefits that I hope exist.

 

At any rate, is there any way to offset the sort of brain foggish effect glycine gives me I take roughly 3 grams to 5 grams per day. I have tried taking less but then I do not notice the benefits. I know that glycine causes cortisol levels to drop and obviously a stimulant would cause it to rise. Should I just take it with caffeine daily then to maintain the collage and joint effects while not getting all foggy?

hmm idk since for most things I notice an opposite but equal effect or what my anat. prof called the Goldilocks effect.   So your body adjusts perhaps over time?   If not,    I'd like to know exactly what the differences are when you take it vs. not.   Like,   is there more pain?    Or for example,  do you even notice a visual difference?   Because I never do with anything so it's frustrating.   And how does one ensure that the  collagen even goes to the necessary parts?    Like if I need it in my knees or spine but certainly don't want it in my nostrils?   I know it sounds weird,   but since I notice so little difference I don't want it affecting the wrong parts either.

Huge glycine fan myself, I take it and magnesium glycinate as well. Perhaps you could take it with a rhodiola.

I don't get the "I like glycine" part.  If it's "too strong", take less.  But if taking less doesn't do any good, then exactly what is it you "like" about glycine?
