The dramatically increased absorption of liposomal supplements is almost too good to be true. I see nothing but advantages in making a modest investment in equipment that will easily pay for itself, even without attaining laboratory standards.

I've found two pages on the web that show some effort at research on perfecting a technique for home development: http://qualityliposomalc.com/ and liposomal essential oils. I'm stunned that there is so little info available and seeming lack of interest. Is there a source that I'm missing, a book or video? The lack of authoritative sources makes me hesitant to get started.

@aconita is knowledgeable about liposomal encapsulation.  Maybe he'll be along to comment.

I think it's great, I think everyone thinks it's great, but who likes to cook when they don't have to?

I suppose there's lots of stuff that can be turned into a liposome, but which lipid? Lipo encapsulate everything with kitchen oils and you'll get fat real fast. Especially if you want big doses of things, it also tastes horrible.

Thanks for the tip! That helped me find a thread from earlier in the year with a typo in the title, Home made Liposomial Products. There's a few good posts in there that confirmed my suspicions, the methods described in various blogs are flawed or completely wrong.

I believe that generally people do liposomal encapsulation with lecithin/phosphatidylcholine.

It's a valuable tool since there are many compounds that are taken apart in the digestive tract and liposomal encapsulation is the only oral route to get access to these substances.  In many cases, it's either liposomal encapsulation or IV.

Ah, I had looked for that very thread when I posted the comment about aconita but couldn't find it for the same reason.  Thanks for the link.

BTW, in some of the research papers where they encapsulate different compounds, they often speak of using various "sugar based surfactants" but they almost never tell you exactly what sugar based surfactant they are using.

Anyone with any knowledge on this issue?

Ah, that's right. I had forgotten that detail. Then I think the case for not using it more often is that the instructions are for Vitamin C? Lots of long lasting Vit C varieties have been bottled since then which can last a decent amount of time. Lots of other antiox's are also available.
