I'm doing well in the wrinkles dept I think, so far, but if I could just get rid of my grey facial hair, I'd probably look 29 again. Since I don't look good either shaven or with a beard, I keep it scruff, that's a problem when it comes to hair dye because I'm trimming it down once a week. Beard hair grows so fast anyway that it's probably the hardest thing to remove grey from (aka cover up) artificially.

I'd love any *accessible*, evidence based ideas on hair repigmentation, especially where facial hair is concerned.

Have you tried Prepared He Shou Wu Extract?

Drinking 3 - 4 liters of distilled water a day is also said to repair the body and some cases reverse grey hair.

Hi Nate,

It's frustrating, isn't it?

I am now 61 and enjoyed mostly dark hair until my early 50's. Even now I am only grey at the temples, although my facial hair is mostly white.

Hair seems to whiten in a pre-determined pattern, with each person having an individual pattern!

I have tried a few things to retard the advance of white hair, including a decoction of Ginkgo biloba leaves to promote catalase and a sacrificial compound using methyl groups to spare the anti-oxidation enzymes in the follicles. Nothing worked.

The only true cases I have seen in the medical literature of white hair reverting to dark involve patients receiving chemotherapy for cancer.

IMO, the most likely explanation is that (somehow) the chemotherapy killed off enough senescent cells in the hair follicles to enable the remaining non-senescent stem cells to resume hair repigmentation. But these cases are rare...why these few and not more?

Like you, I await more information.

As has been mentioned before, it's possible to reverse gray hair with supplements.

I'm 32 and got a little white x-men streak across my chin. It think it's cool now.. but if it spreads.. ugh! I also don't suit clean shaven and dislike growing a bushing beard and it's a chore - putting on anti-aging products/sunscreen etc on.

I use to colour my grey patch with a eyebrow colourer/pen thingy but got bored of reapplying every single day. Anyone know any sups to use?
