I plan to take with uridine and megadose potassium iodide (for iodolactone formation) and am having problems deciding which to get. Or is another brand/ratio better?

If you want high DHA but low EPA, then go for OmegaVia brand. It has a high DHA version and is decidedly the best choice for a high DHA fish oil. It was rated number three on labdoor for quality and is one of three brands, IIRC, to use a proprietary CO2 extraction that reduces thermal degradation of the oils during extraction.

If you want just general fish oil, then go for Viva Naturals brand, which is also one of the aforementioned three, and was rated number two on labdoor for quality.

Fish oils and oils in general are very delicate supplements, in my opinion. So you shouldn’t pick the second best over costs for them.

I was actually just looking at the Viva Natural's fish oil and they do indeed use supercritical CO2 extraction for their product as well. The EPA and DHA per two pills is significantly higher than OmegaVia too (2000 mg total omega-3 in the 2200 mg total serving).

But OmegaVia lists DPA and other things as well plus it is enteric coated which is important for me (I get the acid reflux and burps).

Then again, Viva Naturals is claiming their product will not cause the burps and absorbs quicker.

That’s why Viva Naturals is ranked a bit higher (number 2 vs number 3) than OmegaVia on labdoor.

I used to use OmegaVia for my fish oil intake but switched over to Viva Naturals. Honestly, since I’ve never felt anything from supplements, the switch did not have a significant impact on me, albeit both made me sleepy.

I still use OmegaVia but only for its EPA-only and DHA-only variants. Their normal variant is concentrated but still lacks behind Viva Naturals. Both brands also converts their ester form back into TG via rTG.

As for the enteric-coating, since I have not felt any gastro discomfort, it’s useless for me. Hypothetically, wouldn’t the existence of fat/lipids in the stomach necessary for the eventual secretion of the correct enzyme down at the duodenum of the small intestine? I have no idea about this but isn’t the time taken from the pyloric sphincter to the duodenum a little too short of a ride for them to “sense” the existence of fats?
