Are those dark speckles normal? Oxidation?

Have you tried to contact their customer service? They normally answer promptly.

I've never tried Life extension, but used several different brands of NR that looked like that, especially when they've been sitting around for some months.

The spec for NR in the FDA gras application describes it as white/off white  to light brown.

They listed several batches.  Those that came it at >99% purity were described as white to off-white.  One batch was 97% and described as white to light brown.

Perhaps some batches are a bit darker and slightly lower purity to start.

The testing actually show a tendency to yellow with age, not brown. Nothing to worry about imo.

This happens with all brands of NR.  The NR comes from virtually the same vendor (Chromadex).  I've seen this occur in other vendors like HPN.  The stuff looks like it goes bad after a while.

I wouldn't say it goes bad - a slight loss of purity, but not anything unsafe.

At 25 centigrade, it drops from 99% to 98% after 1 year.

At 40 centigrade, goes from 99% to 92% after 1 year, with most of the loss converted to Nicotinamide.

This is normal. I got worried when I see pure white.
