How to reduce cortisol?

kurdishfella's Photo kurdishfella 11 Mar 2018

What would I need to target in my body that would block cortisol? I know about blocking the Corticotropin-releasing hormone but is that it or is there more to this cortisol stuff?

There is some preliminary evidence that Ashwagandha can lower cortisol.

What happens if you have too little cortisol? people say your body produce cortisol to handle stress but what if your body dont have the cortisol what will happen then?

Then you take rhodiola rosea to regulate it.

Im just wondering what the side effects would be if you didnt do anything about it  because they seem the same with high cortisol. What is rhodiola rosea pharmacology btw? doesent it reduce cortisol?

I am pretty sure if it is low it highers it and if it is high it lowers it.

I have a question about cortisol, high cortisol causes more anxiety that makes sense but why do some people say low cortisol also causes anxiety? isnt lower cortisol= less anxiety?

Is relora waste of time? I have tried magnolia bark on its own which didnt work  but relora consistes of magnolia bark and Phellodendron amurense bark.  Is Phellodendron amurense bark good at reducing cortisol? do they potenciate each other or what? or are the 2 just weak af compared to :rhodiola rosea +Ashwagandha + Phosphatidylserine +   Holy Basil?

btw if any1 knows of any other potent cortisol lowering supps lemme know

Is reducing cortisol across the board a waste of time? Would one not want to promote a regular diurnal cycle, which can be done in ways other than just supplements?

One such adaptogen is eleuthero (Eleutherococcus senticosus), formerly known as Siberian ginseng. Studies demonstrate that the compounds in eleuthero, especially eleutheroside E and syringin, support adrenal function by decreasing adrenal hypertrophy, blunting fatigue induced by sleep deprivation, bolstering immunity, and inhibiting elevated cortisol levels in response to stress.

found somthing about  phosphatidylserine  ...

´´ studies to date have used the bovine cortex PS. Studies have not been done on the soy derived PS which I think is all that is available to buy.´´ so this implies only PS from bovine reduces cortisol?

The drug cytadren will drastically reduce it. Bodybuilders use it the final weeks before a contest. Not something you want to mess with though. You don’t want constantly high or low levels of cortisol. You want the correct balance. Best supplement I’ve found for this is MPA’s Cortisolve. It has 800mg of phosphatidylSerine from the patented SerinAid. Expensive but it works.
