DLPA + Selegiline: ratios

magniloquentc0unt's Photo magniloquentc0unt 10 Jul 2018

I am taking 10mg selegiline (oral, not sublingual) per day to see if it helps with motivation and atypical depression (lack of energy, motivation, reward)

Its not really working out as i hoped and so i decided to start adding a bit of PEA. point is i only have DLPA around and i have read somewhere that it is a better and more tolerable option, if going long term.

my question is fundamentally how much DLPA is common to combine with selegiline?

I have done a bit of searching but it was mostly inconclusive

i know there are already some threads on this topic but they were all 5-6-7 years old and mostly treated PEA

Have you started this already? This is a powerful combination that needs to be dosed precisely. I actually just made a post about it on Reddit:

According to a study on 155 patients, the dosing is: '5 mg 1-deprenyl plus 250 mg l-phenylalanine daily as morning doses' so I suggest you take down your dose of selegiline to 5mg or lower. I don't know the exact right dose for DLPA but I assume it might be the same at around 250mg. Just start low and work your way up carefully.

I am curious to hear your experience with this and whether this helps with anhedonia specifically. The study I read claimed an amazing remission rate of 68.5%! which is comparable to ECT. Improvements in symptoms usually started in the third week.

As for experience reports, it appears to have helped this guy with his depression:
