Anyone found an automated capsule filling...

StephCThomp's Photo StephCThomp 12 Sep 2021

Has anyone found a good automated capsule filling machine?  I want something that enables me to poor casules in one side, powder in the other, and they come out filled :)

(I have a great manual version, but I'm over it.  I'm spending too much of my life filling caps, so I'm willing to spend $ for something automatic.)

There are plenty of choices, just do the search like this one > https://www.lfacapsu...9RoCdyEQAvD_BwE

I'm too cheap to want for this type of machine, and so have gotten to the point where filling capsules with a manual version (about ~$20) is so fast for me that I hardly notice I'm doing it anymore. I've gone through many, many bags of 1000/per capsules, mostly '000's. One type that helps a bit are the separated capsules, at least you don't have to pull all of them apart, although there is a slight upcharge for them (should be cheaper).

Looks interesting. Have a couple of questions if you have/or have used it. First, watching the vid showed that the idea of having capsules just fall into place is not much better than doing it by hand, or at least it appears that way. Many were not filled or upside down, meaning you have to pull them out and replace. And that problem happens doing both pieces of the cap, not just the bottom.

With the Cap-m-Quik I mostly use (because the one I got is '000' and 50 caps/time), totally manual, you need to put them in your self/cap them yourself, but there's no fiddling with upside down caps for tops or bottoms. '000' make it easier, I can imagine it would be worse for smaller caps.

Second thought, 100 caps is a lot, 50 is most what I make/mix ingredients for, as it's almost 2 month's worth. Perhaps for smaller caps, it's not an issue, but only for '000'? For smaller I use "The Capsule Machine". It only does 24, I often wish it did 50.

Always looking for the 'perfect' one, thanks for any advice.

Ah, no wonder it's no issue if you need so few :)  Because I have realised that modified cellulose caps create havoc with my gut, I empty every capsule and blend every other powdered product I use in a big tub, then encapsulate the whole lot in gelatin 00s.  It takes ages.

My Cap-m-Quick I gave away. The one smithx posted above is far superior - a really great little manual device.  You can buy generic versions of it on eBay too.  But that's still too manual and fiddly for me.

$4K is too much though!!  I could pay someone to do it manually for me for several years for the same price. [Light bulb appears above head...]

You really combine all your supplements in a tub and capsule the mix???? Holy cow! I agree that must be tedious. And aren't you a bit apprehensive about combining differing ingredients into one? Perhaps you don't have that many dif ones (10?, 20? 30?)

I want the flexibility to pick and choose on an ongoing basis what I'm taking. And although I cap, there are many that I take as they come, fortunately I don't have any cap type allergies :)
