Should you rinse after brushing your teeth?

osris's Photo osris 08 Feb 2024

I just learned that rinsing your mouth after brushing your teeth with toothpaste is a bad idea, as it removes from your teeth the fluoride and other "good things" the toothpaste has.

This was indeed news to me, as it is not mentioned on toothpaste packets!

It seems to me that not rinsing could make the lining of the mouth subject to possible negative effects from the chemicals toothpastes contain.

Indeed, could one of these negative effects be oral cancer?

Your thoughts.

I doubt, but since you seem afraid to not rinse your mouth (and yes you shouldn't rinse after brushing) due to those nasty toothpaste [1] ingredients then use a Fluoride, Sulfate, Phthalate, Paraben free toothpaste with Hydroxyapatite and Xylitol
