Some basic newbie questions

bobo_daklown's Photo bobo_daklown 07 Dec 2003

Hey all, I've got some basic newbie questions:

1. Even after reading through a large number of posts, the closest thing I've been able to find to a basic stack is the Life Mirage stack which is rather large and lacking in explanation (at least in the same source thread). Can somebody help out with whatever is considered the core stack of 2/3/4 strong nootropics, and then explain what can be added to it and why?

2. Would one want DMAE or AGPC or both for choline?

3. Can someone point out a source for oxiracetam?

4. I was thinking about using the AOR ortho mind product as a base:

Huperzine-A 100 mcg (from 20 mg Huperzia serrata 0.5%)
Vinpocetine 15 mg
Bacopa monniera extract 300 mg (50% baccosides)
Ginkgo biloba extract 100 mg (24% ginkgoflavone glycosides, 6% terpene lactones)
Cytidine diphosphate choline 500 mg
Acetyl-L-Carnitine 1500 mg
L-Pyroglutamic Acid 1500 mg
R(+)-lipoic acid 100 mg
Pantothenic acid 500 mg

To this I would add (?????!)
Piracetam
Oxiracetam
Aniracetam
Deprenyl
AGPC or DMAE or both

Does building up from the AOR product make sense? How would you dose it? Which of my proposed additions to it really matter / don't matter as much? Anything important I've left out (I'm pretty unclear on compounds like vincamine, pyritinol, idebenone, galantamine, centrophenox, etc., etc., etc.)? Any analog which should be substituted for one of these products?

Thanks.

Hey all, I've got some basic newbie questions:

1. Even after reading through a large number of posts, the closest thing I've been able to find to a basic stack is the Life Mirage stack which is rather large and lacking in explanation (at least in the same source thread).

It’s a bit complex but basically most nootropics (even in the same family of compounds) have different effects, if you can afford to take most of them (in small doses) it can acheive better results in some people.

Can somebody help out with whatever is considered the core stack of 2/3/4 strong nootropics, and then explain what can be added to it and why?

2. Would one want DMAE or AGPC or both for choline?

CDP-Choline would appear to be the best from (it has the most studies in healthy people).

3. Can someone point out a source for oxiracetam?

I know of no current source.

4. I was thinking about using the AOR ortho mind product as a base:

Huperzine-A 100 mcg (from 20 mg Huperzia serrata 0.5%)
Vinpocetine 15 mg
Bacopa monniera extract 300 mg (50% baccosides)

Acetyl-L-Carnitine 1500 mg
L-Pyroglutamic Acid 1500 mg
R(+)-lipoic acid 100 mg
Pantothenic acid 500 mg

It’s a good product.

To this I would add (?????!)
Piracetam
Oxiracetam
Aniracetam
Deprenyl
AGPC or DMAE or both

Although it depends on the effects you are looking for I would add Piracetam & Deprenyl to the above combination.

Does building up from the AOR product make sense?
Yes.

How would you dose it?

You can take the full dose for 1 month then cut down to half.

Which of my proposed additions to it really matter/don't matter as much?

Anything important I've left out (I'm pretty unclear on compounds like vincamine, pyritinol, idebenone, galantamine, centrophenox, etc., etc., etc.)?

Any analog which should be substituted for one of these products?

You can skip the vicamine, galantamine, & centrophenoxine if you are taking the AOR product (the vinpocetine, Huperzine A, cdp-choline provides similar effects). Pyritinol and Idebenone you definitely want to consider taking/trying later.

Can you give me a short synopsis of the differences between these nootropics....what they primarily do?

....I think that's the thing that makes it hardest to figure out, there's nowhere to go read "pyracetam -- increased memory for immediately performed tasks; oxiracetam -- makes you turn purple; etc....) and the studies endlessly quoted are just all phrased the same / don't make these distinctions clear regardless.
