Since November of 2008, Bruce J. Klein serves as Singularity University’s Vice President for University Relations. Bruce oversees university-wide programs and drives key SU relationships with private and public partners. Bruce leads marketing campaigns, internal and external communications, media relations and other public outreach activities.

Prior to joining SU, Bruce produced successful conferences and workshops in the areas of Artificial Intelligence, Life Extension and the Technological Singularity. In 2005, Bruce produced the documentary film, Exploring Life Extension and co-edited the book The Scientific Conquest of Death.

Bruce is active in start-ups and cultivating networks that drive exponential and positive global change.

Nice write-up about Bruce. It still appears the Immortality Institute is either too radical, irrelevant, or unspectacular to mention on a resume. I'll ask Bruce about that. Looks like we still have some work to do. Then again, the "singularity" has obviously moved more into the mainstream, perhaps immortality is not far behind.

ahem.. lots of work to do before you're ready for the limelight. you need to be able to answer the question of what sort of online destination this place is - playground where the uninspired and wishful can voice their angst (on topics including handgun disassembly) or a nexus for advocacy and reporting of research on all things life-extensional..

So far in its history, the Immortality Institute's calling card is open/grassroots/organic/(insert favorite word with a positive connotation here). That is why the forums are very active but also seemingly unfocused. At the moment we are trying to organize more formal projects and create a web presence somewhat separate from the forums. Don't want to stifle the forums (an asset), but could use some focus.

That was one of the best ones yet with the video feeds of Bruce and Susan and everything seemingly working flawlessly. I encourage everyone to watch it now that the recording is up.

Ok, so currently SU costs about the same as a CI suspension, but lasts 9 weeks--so it is being marketed to businesses for future forecasting--how to deal with the speed of change and benefit from them. Also, as this is a first in that the school is really focusing on a "transhumanist" curriculum--there is not anything else like it in the world http://singularityu....ademics/tracks/. The ideals are to use technology to help with humanities problems. The hope is to not only have an executive level for businesses but to grow it into a masters or Ph.D. program in the future. They are modeling it after the 20 years experience of the International Space University, which when through the same transition of executive, to masters to Ph.D. Singularity University of course is also being hosted by NASA Ames. Right now, it will be very competitive--but extremely brilliant and promising students in the fields they are covering are encouraged to contact them and find out about scholarship/sponsorship money.

Man did I miss out on not being there live-time to ask questions, would have been fun several times! Great job Mind on the interview, not sure if you used skype or not--but if we can continue this in future interviews we'll be able to boost our live viewing audience greatly!
