Augment my Nootropic Short Stack
Viscid 26 Apr 2009
Hi!
I'm a healthy 24 year old male who's interested in creating a safe and simple yet effective stack of nootropics that I can use on a daily basis for the long-term without ill effects.
I am currently taking:
NOW Products' 5-HTP with Tyrosine which contains:
L-5-HTP - 200 mg
L-Tyrosine - 250 mg
Vitamin B-3 - 10 mg
Vitamin B-6 - 3 mg
Once Daily PM
Omega-3 Gelcaps which contains:
300 mg EPA
200 mg DHA
Once Daily AM
400 IU of Vitamin D3
Once Daily AM
I was suffering from a constant anxiety which got me started on that 5-HTP with Tyrosine supplement, which eliminated my anxiety completely. (The effect was quite stunning, it was like living in a dreamworld for a while.) Now I'm interested in the world of nootropics and what I can take to achieve optimal cognitive abilities. Before discovering this board (and the whole Internet nootropic community) a few days ago, I ordered this:
Swanson Ultra Cognizin Citicoline - 500 mg
(You guys refer to this as CDP-Choline I see)
and
Bacopa Monnieri Extract BaCognize - 250 mg
I've been reading the board about Bacopa and see you guys don't really regard it as terribly effective.
I also drink green tea, exercise and have a pretty decent diet.
Can anyone recommend something to add or change? I'm interested in having a small stack of about 4-5 pills. In the future I suppose I'll get the powder and make my own pills, but for now I'll just get the pre-made products because it's easier.
I'm new to this, so any advice is welcomed.

ashwaghanda. Brewer's yeast and inositol together.
I'll add Brewer's Yeast for the nutrients and Inositol. Doses?
The Ashwagandha I'll try after I experiment with the Bacopa, which seems to be more widely used, to see which works better.

Why not try a concoction of the two...?
I've got a bag of 100g powdered Bacopa monnieri (not extract) and 100g of Ashwagandha (not extract) sitting at home.
The recommended dosage for both is 3g-6g : 3g-10g respectively - spread out over the day, though.
I think I'm going to cap all 200g (separately, of course) and then take 5g of Bacopa + 5g of Ashwagandha at the same time.
Hopefully it'll produce some nice long-lasting anxiolytic effects, memory improvement, general cognition augmentation, relaxation, motivation and concentration.
Apparently the two go hand-in-hand very nicely.
I still have faith in Bacopa, Viscid

Update:
I'll be taking first the Piracetam (3gs once daily AM) and the Citicoline (2g once AM) along with 2gs of Brewer's Yeast and 650 mgs of Inositol (Why am I taking this again Mr. ADD?)
Let's see if I feel any effect at all!

ashwaghanda. Brewer's yeast and inositol together.
Ashwaghanda makes me feel a little sleepy and I tend to zone out on it. I now use it as a sleep aid. :-)
Yeast, however, seems to give me a lot of energy but I've never tried inositol.
So my question is what effect does the combination give you? Thanks.
