An imminst Amazon 'bookstore'

Every time an item is sold, via that page ImmInst gets a very small commission.
This should be in line with or non-profit status as long as the income remains small.
What we need is project campion who stays on top of new releases, announces them on the site or in the forums, and takes old ones down.
We'd also need people to suggest new items.
This should be items that we can really recommend, but there should also be an option for people to buy anything they want through Amazon and benefit ImmInst (this does not increase the price).
Project appraisal suggestions (this is a new idea, Recorders let me know what you think?)

As the Institute remains detached from the discussion and recommendations given out in the Supplement/Lifestyle areas, would be we similarly need to refrain from recommending any particular books pushing those ideas? I just saw a resveratrol book in the recommended list and found it kind of humorous.

One can use Amazon to sell products as well, so Imminst could even become a supplements and computer hardware broker this way.
Btw thanks to Mariusz who suggested the venue while I was strugggling with the ImmInst amazon script

Would we then make this a link in the "Resources" tab? I would then also make this a topic in the "Immortality Institute" forum. It wouldnt need its own sub forum would it?

It'd be a great use of the brand and would be improving it at the same time. Potential for some money to be made, dirtily though.
But at the same time, can't exactly get the message out there or advance the institute while we're poor.

Well, let me know if some of this ideas are helpfull or tell me if you need something else. I could give a hand with the store, I have a lot of experience with the Amazon API.

6. Ill keep you in mind for the store. We currently have 1 person working with the amazon section, and we're in discussions with another. Maybe you could aid in that discussion though. Ill link you up to it if we create one. One thing we need to know is what kinds of applications, groups, ways there may be to promote an amazon page.

6 - In the store I can help with the automatization, for example. It will be good to have some products automaticaly selected to have more offers, even if those offers are not totally related with the institute, just to make some more money. For example, I can make a list of product searching the word immorality or something like that and of course integrate this products to the website design (not just using a preprogrammed script provided by Amazon). But this is just a suggestion, we can talk about differents ideas, and I will be glad to make it real.

Im in discussion with another imminst member about possibly executing such monthly promotions. Ill report here on how that turns out. JD, or anyone else that may also be interested in joining this team to execute such promotions on a long term team basis then let us know here.
Here I am haha! The best way to promote the store is making some works in the website and forum. We can integrate products or list of products in the website and in the forum, but not with links going to Amazon store, but links to our own webpage products. I mean, you show some products in the forum, the users click on that product and they are redirected to a webpage in the imminst website (NOT to Amazon). So they go the our own store and they not only could see the description of the product, they can even see other products related or even products NOT related with immortality (like a computer for example). Once the user gets to the imminst store it will be easier to sell something and generate a comision.
All this work can be made automaticaly using the API of Amazon.
I think that to try to promote the store outside the imminst website is a waste of time (there are thousands of websites with Amazon products). I think the best way is improving how you present those products to your own users and members (not spamming them of course).
I can help with the scripts if you need it. This is not a good example but may be can help you to see the potential: http://www.jeepcamionetas.com.ar/
Edit: I just saw the alpha test http://astore.amazon...mmortainstit-20
What I'm talking about is to do something like this but in the imminst website (not using Amazon aplications or scripts).

Some of us think that linking to the cafepress, amazon, ebay, and (yet to be included) goodsearch sites works well enough, but we can see the benefits in what you say about making our own page to sell stuff directly from. Others have recommended the same thing, including Cnorwood. Cnorwood runs the main store page, imminst.org/store. If you contact him then you may be able to get something going to make that imminst direct sell page happen. It is a good idea of course and if somebody is willing to put in the time to do it like you, and probably cnorwood, then that would be great for the organization. Thanks a million for your offer. Its the combined efforts of every single person like you that makes the difference for this cause.

Maybe the monthly promotion could include, or just be in house promotion. Im sure there are potential outside ways to promote that wouldnt be a waste of time too.

Good. I'm new, and don't know who is who here . If you think that I can give a hand to somebody please let him know about me, because they don't know me. For example, I sent a PM to agevivo but I don't know if he read the message or he thought that I was not serious because I have no answer.
I'm working with my own projects but all of that work and all I do everyday, every year, is for the same purpose. I'm dedicating my life to preserve my existence, 24/7
Until we'll get it, I think imminst will be like my office

Im here to add the note that the head, or if we made this a team then a second person could consider coordinating with the book club section here at imminst. A motivated book lover could hold a book club, where a meeting is held say, once a month. People would discuss a book they choose, then choose another for everybody to read for the next month. I think thats how book clubs work, Im not sure, even if they dont, I think that could work. We have been trying to brainstorm up a potential promotional tool to implement for the book store, and that seems like it could be it. This might encourage more people to buy more books, and it would just get the general buzz and awareness of more of the books about the cause going in the forums so everybody is more aware. Maybe book club members get a special discount or something for every book discussion meeting they show up at.
Boundlesslife, the co author of LifeQuest, might consider this. Boundlesslife if you read this and your up for it then let us know.
A few others have shown interest too. When I remember who they are Ill direct them here. If anybody reading this is interested then let us know.

Im locking this topic. We've decided to lock them here rather than move them to some sort of enacted or finished projects section.
Discussion about the store team as a whole is at http://www.imminst.o...o...c=28884&hl=
Remember all, most all the teams are listed in the Projects area in the Action section. You can keep tabs on them all there, search through them and see what you might be interested in adding discussion to, and or get involved with.
