Metric shit tons of info here: http://www.benbest.c...t/VitaminE.html but nothing on a preferred ratio. There ARE some things on the vitamin E activity of different isomers, though!

Some (possible) evidence supporting gamma from LEF: http://www.lef.org/m...rt_gamma_01.htm

If you're going to use all the tocopherols, I maintain that it would be prudent to mimic jarrow's FamilE as closely as possible so as not to throw off levels of gamma via residual alpha toco (food, other supplements, etc), but reduce the dosage to 3/8ths. That's a fair amount of vitamin E activity from the pherols alone, about 1.73 times the RDA (there's 138.06 IU in a FULL dose, which is 4.6 times the RDA), though the RDA for vitamin E is likely pretty flawed since their assumptions that one Isomer is good enough were.

Since Alpha tocopherol is so predominant in most diets and alot of supplements (fish oil, carotene supplements, astaxanthin) in relatively large amounts, perhaps a higher dosage might even be a good balance, though it may not be needed. I don't get why one can't list the vitamin E activity of the other isomers on a label. It's stupid. But the alpha tocopherol activity you'd list would be 75 percent. Which sounds respectable enough. The real activity at my preferred dosage has been mentioned: 173%. Not unreasonable.

i'm in favor of mimicking either jarrow's familE (in 3/8) or their Gamma E 300 complex (in 1/4) in a reduced amount.

They both use palm, as an aside.

agreed but perhaps a different %... maybe 25% of familE
