New Rx Script for old one

mathkid's Photo mathkid 06 Nov 2010

How to get a swap old (outdated) prescription for a new one with newer date from the doctor?

My doc gave me the script for ritalin four months ago. I went to the pharm., and the guy over there told me that it is good for 6 months.

Today I go there, and the girl over there told me it is good only for 3 three month...

How can I get my doc to write me a new one? I'm no longer her client....

Some doctors do things differently than others, but most are probably unlikely to re-write a script for someone who is no longer their patient. Your best bet may be to just go back to the pharmacy when the six month guy is working the counter.

Talk to the the pharmacist in-person about this and he will call the doctors office. Your doctor should be able to mail your pharmacy a ritalin Rx script and fill it for you.
