Hi i have question , exaflop will be here in 2018 , i have heard that when exaflop is among us ,
it will be posible simulate human body , medication , weather , human brain simulation , and will be inmortal

it this true ??

To answer your question:

An exaflop computer would help us, but it wouldn't automatically confer the necessary knowledge to upload consciousness or cure aging. In addition to raw computing power, we'll need knowledge from many other fields in order to ameliorate cellular damage and fight cancer. Even greater knowledge of the brain's software, which may eventually be achieved closer to the singularity, around 2030-2040, will be required to even begin thinking about how we can upload consciousness, if at all possible. Certainly, uploading is not the only means by which immortality can be achieved, but I was just throwing it out there as an example.

Please take a look at http://www.sens.org for information on how we may be able to deal with aging. Also, if you haven't seen Transcendent Man, a movie about the singularity and one of its founders, I would really recommend seeing it. It's a great introduction to the singularity, and how technological progress may shape our world. It will also help give you a sense of when we might be able to expect certain advances. Also, if you want a brief introduction to the above two concepts, check out these two TED videos:

No, it isn't. We've been working on the simulation of at least parts of the human body, the design and interactions of drugs and biomolecules, weather and the brain for several decades. All of these pursuits are gradually improving. More computational power will certainly be welcome, but to be honest, much of this technology is limited by algorithms and data more than by a need for raw power.

Immortality probably has more to do with bench level biology and biochemistry than it does with compute power at this time. That may change in the future, but 2018 isn't very far away.

Also, don't forget how established interests resist change. Exaflop computing power and all the knowledge gained from 2011 to 2018 will greatly enhance our fight against aging. No doubt there will be substantial breakthroughs between now and then. We might be on the cusp of real regeneration, but if the FDA (and other various agencies of political power) still has its head stuck in the sand, then many breakthroughs will be delayed.
