Mushrooms for your brain

sam7777's Photo sam7777 25 Feb 2012

I have a lot of faith in these things
  • Turkey Tail
  • Hen-of-the-woods
  • Birch Chaga
  • Agarikon
  • Shitaki
  • Poria
  • Oyster Mushroom
  • Beech Lion's Mane
  • Agaricus
  • Phellinus linteus
  • Reishi
  • Cordyceps
I found this vendor, what do you think, anyone ever try them

Hoping that I can find even more vendors like mountain rose herbals selling entire mushrooms so I can put the shrooms in vodka and make my own extracts. Wild or lab certified is better. Rinky dink back yard growing or organic is not so great.

I am not too scared of the wild mushrooms from china, maybe I should be. But you have to realize- the wild mushroom is extremely potent in its natural setting...

Dose is a big issue. You need 2 to 15 grams a day of each of these. So terribly expensive. Could be the answer to my health problems. Along with healthy diet/fasting/exericise/emotional outlook of course. ~

I have had distinct positive effects from mushrooms in the past:
  • Reishi and shitake helped restore my immune system following chemotherapy.
  • Shitake mushrooms will induce a deep restorative sleep.
  • Cordyceps has been very helpful as an exercise tonic. I can exercise longer, harder, and with less fatigue. Recovery is excellent.
I am currently taking Lions Mane (500 mg in New Chapter's Lifeshield Mindforce) which is supposed to stimulate Nerve Growth Factor. I am experiencing very pronounced sensations in my head about 20 minutes after taking it.

Mushroom Harvest has been the best inexpensive reliable source of bulk mushroom powders and extracts. Shipping has been fast.Their products are certified organic and grown in the U.S, which reduces my concern about heavy metals and other toxins in plant or chemical products from other countries, especially Asia.

I am trending strongly toward using mostly plant medicines in whole powdered form for brain healing, immune system modulation, and other anti-aging and healing benefits.

I just ordered a pound of Cordyceps and a pound of Lion's Mane from them. Lion's Mane will be part of the neurogenesis regimen I'm going to start soon, and Cordyceps will be for exercise stamina and general vitality.
