Retin-A = ROS?
zonar 25 Nov 2012
Hey everyone, have been checking out this forum for quite some time, but think this is my first post here actually
Came across this study that links tretinoin to ROS production in vitro. Would be intereseting to hear what you guys have to say about it. Would switching to retin-a micro or another retinoid help?
"The concentrations of
RA used in this study range from physiological plasma concentrations
to pharmacological concentrations. RA is present
constitutively in the plasma at a concentration of 4–14nM
[36]. Pharmacological RA doses result in transient plasma
concentration in the range of μM, the same doses at which
we observed TBARs formation and decreased cell viability."
