Hi GreenLemon,

Here is a link http://www.longecity...-ambien-gaba/ to "The Mega Sleep Thread..." begun here in 2007. The latest reply is quite recent. I think you'll find this of some help.

Best,
Mia K.

from personal experience :
high dose melatonin made me have wierd hallicunations at night.
gaba is ineffective.
chamomilla tea makes my sleep deeper.
glycine works
l-theanine works as well
zyprexa 5mg knocks me out. benzo's a bit but these meds are of course not recommended.

Edit : morning light therapy, from the sun or some light therapy box works good for improved sleep. @ strelok i only tried 3 and 5mg melatonin.

For melatonin, a higher dose is not always better.

I have found the most effective dose for me is 1mg, taken 1 hour before I want to go to sleep. This has been the most effective thing for me to maintain a normal sleep schedule.

3-4 tablespoons of Resistant Starch in the form of unrefined potato starch has helped improve my quality of sleep thru the night. Finally, I think taking Bacopa in the evening has slightly improved my quality of sleep too. I suggest researching each of these things individually.
