phenibut and weight gain?

ccnootropics's Photo ccnootropics 09 May 2014

I took phenibut for the first time about 3 weeks ago, and since then have taken an average of about 1.5 grams 5 days a week.  On many of my days off, I have taken Picamilon.  Since then, I have noticed a slight weight gain about 1 pound/week, even when taking into account daily fluctuations etc.).  I think I may retain more water when taking Picamilon and/or phenibut, but it’s hard to tell sometimes.  Has anybody else experienced this?  Is weight gain a common side effect of Phenibut?  I used to take klonopin on a regular basis and never noticed any weight gain... :/ Also, does anybody know why phenibut could cause this?  Thanks!

This is an interesting question. I've had a very hard time getting rid of my little belly in spite of an excellent diet and regular workouts, and I'm a daily phenibut user.

Take it 2-3 times a week. Have a good metabolism and diet/excercise, so no weight gain, but I think i eat more when on it. I'll try and isolate(taking a boatload of everything so I find it very hard to pin any effect down to any substance). Wow you guys take a lot pheni, I limited it to 3 max even though its awesome as I read somewhere thats its addictive and possibly harmful. Have never experienced this myself, you guys don't get any symptons from regular use??

I'm dependent on it. I experience symptoms if I go too long without it, so I just keep taking it because I don't want to deal with phenibut withdrawal. Other than that, I don't know of any negative effects but maybe I'm a frog in a pot of slowly heating water. I do wonder sometimes if my occasional mental confusion could be made worse by phenibut. I've had some wicked concussions and that's the original source of brain issues. I have no way of knowing how phenibut is affecting that.
