Hey, let's try this again. Maybe I just did it wrong the first time or in the wrong place.

In this thread, I only want to talk about sourcing NR. I have made progress in having my agent in China talk to supplement factories there about making NR in bulk.

I also have colleagues, one a world-class chemist, the other a first-class microbiologist, looking at the different strategies for making NR, and if we think we can scale up to make it cost-effectively, we will.

I'm not in this to make money, I just want NR for myself affordably, so if putting together group buys here at essentially cost enable me to have it, then it's a win-win for all of us.

In order for me to have better clarity, it would be useful if I could get some feedback. There are people here with a ton more knowledge than me, so why reinvent the wheel when there are people here who already have a good idea of the right answers? To whit:

1. What is your guess that the best dose of NR will turn out to be? For a human over 60 years old? I'm not sure NR will make all that much difference for younger people. Yes, I'm aware of the study going on right now at doses up to 1 gram a day. My personal guess is that 1 gram a day ain't gonna cut it for us who are over 60. I also suspect that the manufacturer of NR right now is hoping for some effect at 1 gram, because at current pricing most people just cannot afford a dose much higher. But I want optimal effect, not just threshold of effect.

2. What price range is acceptable, for a target cost? Obviously 10 cents a gram is not gonna happen, but what if we could get a six month's supply at $2 a gram, for a 2 gram a day dose? That's less than half of the cost of the current group buy. At 2 grams a day, that would be 2 grams x 180 days x $2 = $720 in one pop, a fair chunk of change - and probably not doable for most. So, maybe we have to make it a 3-month buy. Monthly buys, I'm afraid, are logistically too much hassle, unless the cost goes up.

Do you guys know about this thread?  It's an attempt to source NR in quantity, and has been going on for some time.  It's pretty long, but there are people there who know their stuff.
