Co-factors? It only explains the pharmacodynamics/mechanism of action for Icariin, not the other components of horny goat weed.

For Icariin to work properly, you should still be intaking adequate amounts of l-arginine, l-histidine, b-vitamins and vitamin C; all of which are necessary for neurotransmitter and second messenger production. Adding dietary nitrates such as from beets and celery can help enhance the vasodilating effects of Icariin as well.

no i tried like 20 various brands sold in various stores. i assume what you refer to is some patented extract that is expensive and found only online. but i dont trust most vendors online...

whats the smell like? and does it have really bitter taste? some of the stuff i tried had bitter taste but then again thats not the best indication its good stuff.

Smells very pleasant, and store brands rarely are of good enough quality or contain enough real Icariin.

It's worth it, but it can get expensive absolutely.

what about liftmode's 50 bucks one on amazon

I bought the cheap store brand of HGW and it worked well for fixing my knee along with gelatine.

area, try liftmode's 50 buck powder icariin and report. its cheaper and its bigger quantity for cheaper price compared to several capsules for 70

Am taking horny goat from planetary herbals. Truth is, Ginkgo and Gotu Kola made way more for my lower human horn than this, which helps hardness a bit maybe, whereas these really boosted circulation and the effect was pretty dramatic. In fact I resumed Ginkgo and Maca recently so maybe this horny goat is pure placebo and any improvement comes from Dr Best Ginkgo and Maca.

Ironically the Now brand used to give me strong morning wood and is apparently the shittiest icariin around with only 3%. This one doesnt touch my inexistent morning wood.

Well keep in mind there are other compounds besides Icariin...for example flavones that inhibit mao and increase acetylcholine.

So perhaps your effect was based on the psychoactive components...You're telling me that world abs icariin 60 doesn't increase your morning wood?

That's not a good sign though in the first place, lack of morning wood is usually a free t and / or vascular issue.

I hear ya, always good sleep and good diet are key points in overall health. This includes hormone levels and ratios.

- I tried Liftmode's '98% pure' Icariin: this stuff is utterly worthless, I wonder if it's even really a horny goat weed extract. It came with batch analysis from their source, I'm guessing some supplier scammed Lifemode with a bullshit product, that doesn't make it right they are selling a product that isn't what it claims it is. The amazon.com reviews seem to assert my findings.

- IcariinHealth's / World A.B.S product works well. Too well, actually. I am running a regimen to boost my testosterone, and noticed on days that I accidentally forgot the 60% HGW product from IcariinHealth, my libido drops. When taking the product on the other hand, the product seems to slowly but noticeably boost libido over time when taking it. I only take 1 cap twice a day and the effect is there.

However, the fact that when discontinuing I seem to suffer a sudden and direct withdrawal/downregulation effect, makes me think this product is spiked with a dopamine agonist. Probably not much, but I have my suspicions. No other horny goat weed extract or powder form product I took (and I have taken several) has this effect.

Who knows if this is common with every effective aphrodisiac out there. After all, while on the substance your sexual function is heightened, is logical to expect a feeling of being worse that average when discontinuing...

Perhaps. While your reasoning sounds logical I personally think an effect this pronounced is pretty strange.

wtf, only 60% icarin in their product and it works so well? they are definitely cheating with this one. it makes sense they added other weird shit to fill the rest of the percent there. 

is it really that expensive to send it to private lab and test the stuff? maybe its not that expensive and you can afford it and if you can actually prove it contains some strange shit in there, you can sue them and get some money back.

I tested the 60 % icariin hgw and here is a review of the product, hopefully  it is useful:

First the effects were obvious after 3 weeks on the supplement , I did not always take three caps (suggested dosage) during the first few weeks.

Very obvious effects :

_ Mood was enhanced.

_ Libido was up.

_ Confidence and drive  were up .

_ Lots of hair in the shower.

_ More body hair.

_ Erections were maintained easily (even without stimulation).

_ Penis was fuller.

_ More morning wood.

_ Athletic performances were vastly improved. I normally struggle with exercise induced asthma/allergies, and prompt shortness of breath .

At this time I felt like I could finally run properly and reach my potential.

_ During my first week off it I noticed the positive effects gradually disappear down to none.

Negative effects which could well be attributed to the supplement:

_ Very weird sensations happening in the chest  , they were related to breathing (more difficult) and possibly muscles. This happened a few times. It never happened before and has not happened since.

_ One week after discontinuing the hgw , I exercised again, and once I was done, at rest, experienced important tacchycardia to the point of unpleasant sensations in the left arm, some tensions in the jaw despite doing nothing.

This had never happened before and has not happened since ( I have not really exercised though).

What could be attributed to the supplement:

_ Testicles shrank once off the hgw, to a very small size, they may have been bigger while on it.

You should know I had never paid too much attention to them before, but now they're bigger (normal?) again.

_ It seems I'm losing hair, this could have been triggered by the hgw among other stuff (little tweaks in diet and supplements)

I highly doubt the effects on erections were connected with the pde5 inhibitor role of icariin as I had tried 10 mg cialis a few times with little to no success.

It was only a while after discontinuing the hgw that I became aware high dose and/or long term use of hgw is connected with respiratory arrest and tachycardia (although the last one is not 100 % proven from the little I read).
