Such devices are already made, in the real life.
In this article in Nature was anounced a pocket sized DNA sequencer.

It was a pocked sized usb device, that can read DNA, made from Nanoporetech

These devices, relying at squeezing a DNA molecule through a tiny hole were supposed to have 4% error rate, which soon had to be decreased to 1%
The last year I asked what is the progress, but I didn't get an answer.

I don't think, that the DNA sequencing will make us immortal or ageless.
I follow this development because of mind food interest.
Focus on stem cells.
No matter if you know your genome or not, they can make you immortal.
