hydrophilic supplements

Ok, I've been taking 150mg of rhodiola rosea for a week with none of the uplifting effects that everyone talks about. Before I up the dosage I thought I'd re evaluate and ask you all what you think. About 30min or more before breakfast, I take my water soluable supplements which include, rhodiola rosea, piracetam, pyritinol, bacopa monniera, ALCAR and ALA. Is is possible that one or more of these supps prevent the proper absorbtion of the rosea, and or the others which would degrade effectiveness? What would you all suggest, upping dose, or splitting up pills?

You know, Rhodiola is a funky herb. I think all so-called adaptogens are. In my body they seem to resemble a mild risperidol more than any stimulant. I took 500mg at 3% on a few occasions. Every time I did, I fellt like my blood-vessels were constricting and that I was numb. My thinking got more cloudy and mu energy levels decreased. It was very similar to when I experimentally took a low dose of risperidol. I doubt anything is interfering with its action. It had the same effect for me regardless of what else I was taking. Try taking a bunch of it to see what it does. Perhaps in some people it just doesn't work well.

I'll up my dose to 300mg tommorrow and see what happens. Since I've been taking it though I have noticed a slight fatigue so it seems. I actually got a small boost in mood from the bacopa, but with the addition to rhodiola, nothing. Like I said, I'll boost it up tommorrow for a couple days, and if I get the same effect, I'm dumping it.

I took a 150mg dose of Rhodiola tonight on an empty stomach about 4 hours ago. I don't feel anything but spacey, and drained. I don't like feeling like this, I don't think this herb is for me. Some claim that bacopa doesn't usually effect mood, but I felt a definite increase in mood the first week. I think its effects on cognitive function have positive effects on mood. No more rhodiola rosea for me.
