YOLF's Photo YOLF 01 Feb 2017

On October 2nd, Dr. James Bedford will turn 122 years and 165 days old, thus surpassing Jeanne Calment for the title of world's oldest person, though not the person to have lived the longest. He'll have been in storage for over 50 years at that time, and may be among the last to be thawed given the method of his preservation. To cryonicists, Bedford is in an "ametabolic coma," so basically dead, but not dead forever and as it is Alcor's intent to revive him someday, his case differs from someone who is buried in the ground or has their brain in embalming fluid unless there exists one who has hopes of being rejuvenated someday.
