11 Dimensional Structures Discovered In Th...

This can theoretically go in several sub forums, but since I am not sure exactly where to put it ..... here you go.

Link to paper

Scientists studying the brain have discovered that the organ operates on up to 11 different dimensions, creating multiverse-like structures that are “a world we had never imagined.” By using an advanced mathematical system, researchers were able to uncover architectural structures that appears when the brain has to process information, before they disintegrate into nothing.

How is linking and quoting an article ill informed? I didnt do the study or the research. lmao

I 'liked the post, to try and balance ot the 'ill informed' :)

I am not sure I understand how it is dangerous or irresponsible to post this. Again, not my research, study, or analysis on a study.

All I know is I tried reading the research, and my brain hurt, and then it shut down and rebooted itself. Too many dimensions to fathom.

But yeah, how can a scientific article be deemed "irresponsible" or "ill informed". (Some) People in here are weird.

This article seemed pretty absurd to me. Proving an 11 dimensional universe (which is one theory) would be a Nobel Prize worthy discovery in physics alone. But knowing how one would go about determining that neurons are communicating via unconnected, 11 dimensional cliques is beyond me. I'll let some other experts opine on this first.

In the nomenclature of mathematical topology, 11 dimensions means a cluster of 11 neurons which can all talk directly to each other.  Think of a miniature brain--a sphere with 11 neurons on the surface and  interconnections criss-crossing through the interior.  This article indicates that with various modifications these may be a common construct throughout the larger brain. It would be an interesting problem to explain why exactly 11 neurons fit together that way.  Of course, each neuron is accompanied by numerous support cells which would take up most of the room.  Caveat: Mathematical topology is way over my head--I may have misunderstood.

This is actually an analysis of an 8 million node artificial neural network trained to mimic many of the large scale patterns of the rat brain.

All I know about mathematical topology is that coffee mugs are equivalent to donuts, and that Klein bottles are cool.

Pretty deceptive articles out there, then. Had me fooled considering the use of the number 11, the terms "multiverse" and "dimensions" in this Newsweek article:

I keep reading this trying to make sense of it but I am not getting anything? If 11 neurons are connected to multiple other dimensions how does an 11'th dimensional structure arise? Like what is the first dimension or second dimension in that structure?

This is NOT referring to spatial dimensions. The word "dimensions" is referring to algebraic topology. Not sure what would be a better term to make it clear that this has nothing to do with physical/spatial dimensions...maybe "multi-connected network".
