phenibut side affects.

markosheehan's Photo markosheehan 30 Oct 2017

hi

how dangerous is phenibut? I read all about the withdrawal reports and I am not wondering about that but I am worried about the other side affects I am reading about. I am reading that it can cause fatty liver disease, kidney disease, eosinophilia. I read about this in a russian report and it included other negatives. how often does this occur and how dangerous can these effects be. does anyone any any studies about this? if there is anyone who is russian/unkrainian/latvian on this who knows alot about this? there is not much in the west about this substance. is there any phenibut experts on these forums surely? does baclofen also share these side affects or is it a safer option.

https://elibrary.ru/ if you search phenibut on this website there are hundreads of studies but i can not understand russian and do not have a subscription.

The extremely rapid tolerance if used with any regularity should be your greatest concern.  My sense is if you're using it often enough to worry about those other side effects you have bigger issues.

I suspect the only real phenibut pharmacology experts you're going to find are all going to be Russians.  This drug has not been studied that much in the West.

Thanks

Do you know any phenibut pharmacology experts on this website.

Look into nickname Oracle Laboratories (John Gona) postings. He has extensive knowledge of Phenibut pharmacology and related substances.

I'd really suggest that you just don't want to take phenibut often enough to worry about those other side effects.  I doubt that you'll have any issues with the side effects you questioned taking it once, maybe twice a week.  And that's about how often most people can take it before getting into serious tolerance issues.

Are you already taking it regularly?

Well alcohol only causes fatty liver in extreme consumption. But drinking alcohol below the threshold for fatty liver degeneration is still not good for your liver. So taking phenibut below the threshold of serious damage could also be bad for your liver. I'm not taking it regularly yet. I take once every few months. But I would like to take it once every 2 weeks/ week. But I'm not going to do this unless I know it's not bad for your liver. Personally I do not think it's bad for your liver. On the NCBi case reports of phenibut overdoses when they measure there kidney/ liver function it is fine. I'm just worried cause all the Russian pharma companies selling noofen /anvifen say liver/kidney damage is a side affect.
