Sister of Dying Man Refuses to Donate Bone...

Ethics are relative. I'd say more but Samson's got it down. Do what you want, don't try and make others unless you have the power too.

I have to admit I like Samson's way of expressing himself (constantly politically correct people can be tiring) combined with the anime image he uses. His persona is quite interesting and he would be a guy I would like to meet in person one day.

I'm not a selfish person by nature and don't like to be so, but like samson said some people are just not worth it. they'll stab you in the back the moment they seize the chance, forgetting that at some stage you've helped them out. However knowing the kind of person that I am, kind but moreso naive I probably will continue to help in anyway I could.

What a horrible world if you were forced to be nice. That would remove all the pleasure of being generous. I think the sister is within her rights. Tough, it sucks, but like Sampson says, "bad things happen". I think the brother should just suck it up and stop whining.

Samson, I thought perchance your proclivity for narrow kinship definition could be due to your age?

I tend to think that having children makes people generally become more generative to society at large...and I'm not saying Samson's views would change, but possibly evolve into wanting more to take the mantle of adult responsibilities such as he did. (people do grow and change over time, some become more jaded--some more trusting)

on topic :) :

The sister in this case may not want to jeopardize her own life with the chance of something going wrong with the surgery. There are signs that she was not always close with her brother, but in this case she may be thinking more of her own children/immediate family.
