Broken hips/bones and lower mobility are very often the trigger for death in the very old. It underscores the importance of staying healthy and getting exercise.

Yes it is sad that some of the oldest people in the world have died of falls. However even if they don't fall and continue walking their legs eventually gets too weak to walk with and they end up in wheelchairs. I've heard from nurses at elderly care units that they do not fall and break their legs, instead their legs break because of osteoporosis so they fall.

Aging is really really terrible, however the elderly should follow Marge Jetton's example and continue exercise and eat healthy nutritious food.

"Indiana Gov. Mitch Daniels commended the two women, who both grew up on small Indiana farms, became schoolteachers and ate a lot of meat and starch over the course of their exceptionally long lives. Parker especially enjoyed eggs, sausage, bacon and fried chicken. "I guess we'll have to rethink lard," Daniels quipped after hearing about her high-fat diet."

She probably had an extra sirt1 gene.

The fact that she lived a long time and enjoyed a high fat and somewhat high protein diet is no surprise to most Imminst members and those who follow the science behind the ketogenic diet.

Carbs are the bad boys in most people's diets, not fat and protein.

Mind, where did see that she preferred a low-carb diet? Always looking for more good examples that I can use to convince carboholics that they're on the wrong bus.
