Current (2012) status on racetams in Austr...

I heard that I should begin with the racetams so I searched up which ones I can safely import into Aus.
From what I see here; http://www.comlaw.go...ils/F2012L01200
The only racetams I could find are Piracetam and Levetiracetam which are both Schedule IV (meaning a prescription is required to import)
Does that mean that the other racetams (e.g. oxi and ani) are unscheduled and I am safe to buy and import to australia with out customs taking it? I am aware that I am only allowed to import a max. of 3 months of a personal substance.

Piracetam was made a Schedule IV Prescription only drug in 2007.
That's an interesting document you linked, I wasn't sure where to look when reading about the law, but yes I agree that it clearly states that only Piracetam and Levetiracetam are Schedule IV. Seems reasonable to conclude that all items not on the list are not Schedule IV and therefore legal? That's also my take but perhaps someone can help clarify this?
It's interesting to note that there are also various Australian-based companies on the internet who sell nootropics and most racetams (ani, oxi, prami) except for Piracetam so based on that I would say that they are legal. (For now)
I'm tempted to just go for it and get hold of some instead of mulling over it indefinitely. Will update on how I go. Conversely, I'll also be interested to know if you are successful.

I'm not confident enough to import but if you do let me know how it goes!

Yes, technically it is illegal to have Piracetam without a prescription, but you can have oxiracetam and aniracetam and all the others without one. Crazy huh!?

Go for it dood. I buy 1 kilo of Piracetam every couple of months - it just gets delivered to your house...

Get some confidence dood, there is nothing hard about buying Piracetam off the net and receiving it. I've done it Jan 2013 no issue...

The emergence of Australian domestic vendors appears to have been a relatively recent development, and a significant change in the landscape compared to that of previous years.
If anyone had thoughts or relevant advice, I would be most grateful.
Many thanks,

I have noted with interest the increased availability of aniracetam, pramiracetam and oxiracetam from Australian online vendors. Previously, it seemed that these had to be pursued from overseas outlets. I saw a handful of posts where people had found the local online outlets useful, and in general, I was wondering whether members of the forum had success with these suppliers?

Bulk Nutrients was selling aniracetam, oxiracetam, etc for a while. They appeared to be quite unaware that selling these unapproved drugs for human consumption wasn't viable under Australian law; at some point, the TGA must have contacted them, as they suddenly withdraw/ recalled their smart-drug products sometime last year.
I'd be avoiding any online vendors [selling smart drus] claiming to be based in Australia. Unless they are willing to provide a street address & Australian contact telephone number, details of the TGA approved lab where their supplements are tested & packaged, & of course finished-product analyses for all of their wares.
