My wife suffered a broken right arm just below the wrist from a fall at the end of last October. I treated it immediately with DMSO and ice during transport to a medical facility. Her doctors initially contemplated a necessity for surgery but healing progressed so much better than anticipated that they found it unnecessary. She's a professional pianist and has been back in concert form since March.

Perhaps everything has healed faster, than it otherwise would have, but I can't really test that unless I replicate myself, and give one twin the DMSO, and use the other as a control. :-)
II had one extremely swollen area of my quad, with deep bruising, but no visible blood on the surface. It was puffed out by about an inch after the accident. I had a little nerve damage there also, and I couldn't feel anything when the skin was touched. That part of the muscle is still a little sore, and the feeling is coming back. In retrospect, I wish I would have treated that one immediately.
I have been treating my right foot with for planar fasciitis, with DMSO mixed with curcumin, bromeline, and PQQ. The fasciitis is responding very well! I am really happy that I found DMSO.

But I am a single guy, who likes garlic, spices, and has spent a lot of time at gyms. I am not so sensitive to garlic orders.

I would not be able to hike if not for DMSO. Rub it on my knee and the swelling from an old injury never happens. I even use it in a DIY skincare serum for better penetration. Amazing stuff.

I'm wondering -- your treated bruise healed in about five days -- is this about how long a bruise on you would normally heal, or do you feel your solution helped speed the process? It's very interesting.
The amount of time depends on how big and how deep the bruise is. I have the one really deep bruise, that has taken almost a month to heal. I mentioned that previously. I chose the bruise in the photos because it was large and visible. I painted a stripe down the middle of the bruise with dmso. The middle of the bruise was the test. The parts to either side were the controls. The test portion clearly healed faster. The control portions were there for many more days. I started treating control portions with dmso, 2 days after the last photo. (I didn't use any dmso on the 6th and 7th days, following the 5 day on, 2 day off regimen). The control portions lasted a few more days, maybe 2? I can't remember.

DMSO is a miracle substance that the powers at be will make sure stays basically underground.
Thanks. Any recommended brands? The odor issue has me confused.

I've never really noticed the odor issue myself. I've used the DMSO spray in the past. I bought the gel recently and like it better. I bought from dmso.com
Theirs is 90% strength so it's quite strong. I use a 1 oz. airless pump bottle. Best to start out with the 70% strength. As far as I know, that site only sells 90%

I used this http://www.swansonvi...e-240-ml-liquid
I mixed it with saline solution, that was intended for contact lenses.
I described it in detail here:
http://acumensoftwareinc.com/bruise/
I had previously purchased Dr. Jacob's 99.98% pure DMSO from Swanson Vitamins for some other experiments. I mixed 2 teaspons of this DMSO, with steril saline solution that I had purchased from Harris Teeter pharmacy. I used a Q tip to apply the solution twice per day, once in the morning, and once in the evening. I washed the bruise with soap and water before every application. The DMSO / water solution burned intensely after a few minutes, and I would rub aloe vera on it to make the burning go away. I treated it for 5 days this way. After the 5th day, I took a 2 day break, because the skin was very dry. The center of the bruise was gone on the 5th day.
read further about the skin dryness, etc.

I might buy some premixed DMSO with aloe vera and try that.

I think I'll try this one, too. (if you mean the product on Amazon). I've a pulled groin and hoping for some pain relief.

It felt like I was sticking it in a light socket, when I picked things up.
I treated my left index finger with a 50% DMSO 50% water solution, mixed with a lot of curcumin, The finger felt better immediately.
This morning it felt fine, but the skin was as dry as old leather. I rubbed it with a solution of 75% olive oil c60, 25% limonene, and now it feels fine. My finger is quite yellow though, from the curcumin.

does topical dmso actually promote collagen synthesis / joint regeneration, or are the effects primarily analgesic?

Which dmso would you guys recommend to get? I think i'd like one that alleviates the negative sides of dmso use as much as possible.
Aloe added to the DMSO may help some with sides. I'd buy 2 jars of DMSO. One 90% + and the other 70%. Start with the 70%. I like putting the gel DMSO in a small airless pump bottle. Works perfect. Also, Emu Oil works really well when usd with DMSO. It has healing properties in it's own right and get's down deep like DMOS does. Really helps with redness and itching, peeling, that often comes with DMSO use.
