I've been on the hunt for commercially available nasal-spray preparations of Orexin-A for a while now, since I first read about the research in Wired, and it looks like I might have finally found something:

http://www.orexinal.com/

The site sells its namesake product, Orexinal nasal-spray, described as a "Natural Orexin Activator". The nasal spray is available in three sizes, 2.5ml (12 doses), 5ml (25 doses), and 10ml (50 doses). The prices are... *shudder*... a little on the frightening side (but still substantially less than ordering a reasonable quantity of Orexin-A directly from the labs for research purposes). Apparently it's made in the USA, prepared in an FDA-approved, certified-GMP facility, and classed as a dietary supplement. I suppose it's also worth mentioning that they ship internationally.

Now, the site's product description is a little on the vague side when it comes to what's in the actual preparation. The active ingredient is listed as "Orexin Activating Matrix (proprietary blend)", so it could be made up of just about anything. But given that it's sold as a "natural orexin activator", I doubt it contains actual synthesized Orexin-A. It would be nice to know what's actually in it.

The site says it is owned by Fischer Laboratories, Inc., but a quick google search doesn't turn up anything about them. Anybody familiar with them, their reliability and trustworthiness?

Has anyone here ordered Orexinal yet? And if so, what was your experience with service and product quality? Also, if you've had any experience ordering pure Orexin-A directly from a lab, that would be good to mention.

If not, anyone in the US or Canada willing to take the risk and report back?

Yeah... the lack of response or interest here is also not particularly promising. :P

It seems to be a mysterious blend of amino acids according to their website, not really pure orexin a.
Prices are very very scary, I wonder if anyone ever tried that.

Look : http://store.orexind...exin-drops.html

The same company seems to sell orexin A : http://www.orexindie...ment_facts.html

They sell 4x which is 3mg per serving.

Found this thread on another forum, scroll down to bottom of page 1 for some discussion of Orexinal earlier this year...

It's weird that they would bother selling it in liquid drops when the research clearly shows that oral doses are essentially ineffective, and the nasal spray is 10x as effective as intravenous...
