I think water should be on this list, it is far more effective.
Check the definition of the word 'nootropic'.

'Nootropic' is almost as hokey as the term 'adaptogen'.

You have a good point... I take a day off of Noots at least once a week, and it always feels very nice to feel like me again. My brain definitely does not work as well on those days, but I still feel good.Do people are really taking "stacks" and feel better than without it ? To be honest today and yesterday I've not took anything because of bad reaction, and I'm a best mood for a long time. I feel really "natural" and that's a pleasure..

Pramiracetam was amazing, too bad it slowed my reading down though.
Could you tell about your experience a little more? Effects of different dosages, tolerance, etc
Thanks!

My "other" would be cerebrolysin. This has far and away shown me the strongest, greatest nootropic effects, that lasted with permanence and affected every aspect of my life in a greater way. I haven't used it for over a year, almost a year and a half, but I'm receiving some in the mail in the next week and could not possibly be more excited. Out of every single thing I've tried, this particular neurogenic substance has shown to be the best. Far and away. Literally no competition in any way, shape or form. Especially due to its lasting effects even after the drug is gone, which most, if not all other nootropics don't have.
Edit:
Second best would be Pramiracetam at 200mg 2-3x daily. After a small loading phase for me, my memory becomes very noticeably stronger, my concentration much better, and my ability to work is much more consistent. Pramiracetam works great for me as a daily, non-injectible nootropic.

Coluracetam flipped my life around in a positive way, far more noticeably than any other, and I've tried most of 'em.

Nootropics are predominantly shit. I believe you'd have to be a hypochondriac with a slew of make believe illnesses to really benefit from taking some of these.

The term "Nootropic" is used in medical literature; substances' efficacy can demonstrated by improvements in digit span (humans), increased word recall (humans), fear-conditioning and avoidance, water-maze tests improvements, and dozens of other tests all of which indicate that nootropics do indeed "work" and are not "predominantly shit" as you have so colorfully put it. You really need to lacking proper mental faculties to have come to such a conclusion and are displacing your own shortcomings toward the nootropic community.

I agree , nootropics are shit. Only work for people with cognitive deficits.

Let me rephrase your argument. You are claiming there exists absolutely no way to improve your current cognitive function through the means of ingesting chemical substances if you are "healthy". That's an extraordinary claim and requires extraordinary evidence. There is a slew of evidence showing many substances improving human cognitive function in those considered "healthy".

Phenylpiracetam is my go-to. 300mg seems to be the sweet spot, and have not found tolerance to build up. Not only does it improve my cognitive function (as do other noots), but it makes me noticeably less socially anxious. It also does not have any speedy aspects to it, which is a nice plus.
Noopept is also quite nice. YMMV.

I claimed that nootropics are predominantly shit, as in, the brunt of substances in the elusive "nootropic" category are largely inefficient or only slightly better than placebo. Some guy misunderstood the message in my post and questioned my "mental faculties". I won't be bothered writing a coherent reply, but instead elucidate why his line of thinking is wrong:
- The fact that the term "nootropic" is used in medical litterature, does not on its' own affirm the efficiency of a substance. The substance in question has been put in a category, possibly as an extra bit of information to the reader.
- Do you honestly believe that all tests show that nootropics work? Some tests, show or suggest that some nootropics are effective at improving certain underlying parameters, which ultimately results in "enhanced cognition". Some tests, show or suggest that some nootropics are inefficient at improving certain underlying parameters, which ultimately results in "enhanced cognition".
- All tests do indeed not show that all "nootropics" are effective. There are as many shitty nootropics and nootropic blends as there are efficient ones.
- Writing all of which indicate that "nootropics" do indeed work, is strange. You must understand that such generalizations are downright stupid.

In very rare occasion I had some very intense and blissfull Oxiracetam rush but unfortunately I don't know how to keep them as they vanish very quickly and it happens very rarely. That's really a shame because trust that it could be really really good !
For consistant effect by far Adderall (or TBH 2-FA which I assume is very near of the official version)
Reformed-Redan 08 May 2014
In my experience real nootropic effects have only been seen in me at least with combining several things to form a synergistic effect.
Same. What combo has worked for you? I stumbled across something really effective and I'm trying to potentiate it.
