Interview with Avi Roy of BGRF

Mind's Photo Mind 10 Apr 2015

First off, I apologize for not posting earlier in order to allow for questions. The podcast came together rather quick. Here is a short bio on the guest of this episode:

Avi Roy is the President of the Biogerontology Research Foundation (BGRF), a UK based charity which supports the application of our knowledge of the mechanisms of ageing to the relief of disability, suffering and disease in old age. Avi is a biomedical scientist, with degrees in biomedical science and computer science. Avi's PhD research involved rejuvenation of human skin using small molecules, and identifying accurate biomarkers of aging.

Over the past 8 years Oxford has been Avi's home where he has headed the Oxford University Scientific Society, and co-founded the Oxford Transhumanism and Emerging Technology Society, and Oxford University Synthetic Biology Society. He is always involved in public dissemination of science and has organised over 370 talks, chaired 8 conferences and hosted 28 Nobel laureates. Recently, Avi has launched the Big Data Science in Medicine Conference series, the first conference series of its kind in Europe; and the Longevity Reporter, which aims to be the premier source for news about health and longevity.
