Recovery after surgery

I had an open appendectomy last Saturday (9 days ago). It had not perforated.
My employer has queried when I will be ready to return to work.
I do feel a little tired at times, but it could well be from all this sitting around the house, it's hard to know if I should return now or not.
What's the average recovery time from such a procedure?
