When I look up the properties of nortryptiline, I see that it's a strong 5ht2c antagonist with weak serotonin reuptake. Drugs that antagonize 5ht2c disinhibit the release of dopamine. I think I recall reading anecdotes where people using nortryptiline said it helped a lot with dysthymia and regaining emotional response. Is there a reason this med isn't more talked about?

Is that the one often recommened for anhedonia or the other ne tricyclic? either way i highly agree that those meds need to be talked about more, ill look for some anecdotes to post to generate discussion.

I tried this. it certainly helped, but i find it's best in augmentation. With an SSRI it's very synergistic indeed.
