Why NO ASIA in regional discussion?

mxm251's Photo mxm251 03 Feb 2006

No Asians interested in immortality? Or is there some discrimination against Asians here?

I think there aren't all that many around, but I agree, it should be introduced to attract some. (Even if that doesn't work, you might be right to consider it simply for political correctness)

An Asia forum would be more than adequate for the traffic ImmInst seems to recieve from that continent. If traffic increases significantly the forum can be broken up into sub-regions, edit: as is already the case for individual countries such as Israel and Russia.

I've noticed a lot of people writing and contributing to journal articles with Chinese sounding names.

Anyone know if the Chinese government is supporting research into curing ageing? Seems like they probably need it.

[huh]

We usually create new regional fora when they're requested, assuming there appears to be demand for it. Now that it's being requested, we can consider it. ;)

China might actually be a good place to have a conference at some point.

How come there's not an Eastern section in your Regional Discussion?

perhaps it's because last time we set up a new regional forum (the Scandinavian one) it didn't become very frequented afterwards.

But it's a good idea to create one. It could attract more Asians, and I think there are many out there, who are open minded for life extension and futuristic stuff like that.
