Question about overdoing it with antioxida...

Are there any documented cases of somebody ingesting too many antioxidants and having health problems because they didn't have enough ROS, RNS, or radicals in their body? If so, how did this happen and what were the consequences? I'd like to know so I can avoid this, help my friends avoid it, and gain a better understanding of the role of ROS, RNS, and radicals in the body.

I don't know any studies in which biochemical measurements were taken but I recall some large controlled longitudinal studies in which antioxidants have had the opposite effect on outcome to what was anticipated.  

 

For example, Cochrane's "Antioxidant supplements for prevention of mortality in healthy participants and patients with various diseases".
