Just wondering if there's a site or a breif synopsis on conducting proper experiments on our furry little freinds that any of you guys are aware of.

Being the layman fool that I am I don't want to run a shoddy experiment and would like to work out a couple of theories I have. [glasses]

I also don't know where to get the mice and would prefer not to refinance my house to buy them if you catch my drift. [:o]

Karo, I take it you're going to perform these experiments at home. If so, try to hook up with a grad student who works with mice. Keeping them as pets is one thing, running experiments is another. Personally, I have never been able to cull mice, and when I do run experiments I have an RA do it for me.

I think the old saying "an ounce of prevention" could hold true with much of the aging process, since most if not all of the major factors responsible for aging have been identified. What happens when you combine multiple proven life extending compounds/methods and use them on a single group of mice? what is the average life span? maximum life span?

I don't curently know of any studies involving multiple compounds of this power.

I want to use NtBHA, metformin,ALT-711, R-lipoic acid, Pyridoxamine, and carnosine, along with an intermittent fasting regimen.

Read a book about lab animal treatment, feeding and housing first, there is very much to think about when you design experiments like this if you want to make it right. Dont tell your neigbors that you have at least a 100 mice at home.
