I had actually started to take niacin recently to help my cholesterol out. It wasn't bad-it was a little over 200 and my HDL/LDL ratio is good. I just like to have perfection.

I had no idea it would do this, but niacin boosted my mood, more than any other single pill or supplement has. I know it's not the placebo affect. I am a vitamin junkie and have tried everything in the past to boost my mood. Vitamins have prevented me from going as low as I used to go, but I still was down.

The niacin worked from day 1-been on it a little over a week. I am VERY focused and in a good mood. I had suffered from ADHD and inattention, not sure if it was because of depression or just because I get bored. I do have a high IQ-just very absentminded when it comes to things that don't interest me.

The other benefit Niacin has had is that it allows me to use Piracetam. I had tried it in the past, and I did notice a difference. However, I would suffer from the piracetam crash which prevented regular use. I would get down.
However, when using niacin, the piracetam does not have the negative effects that it has once had. I am not saying this will work for everyone. However ,it has worked for me. I am going to continue to use niacin.

What form of niacin and how much do you take? I've found niacinamide to be great for mild anxiety.

Great to hear that you have found something that works for you! I hope things are smooth sailing from here, make sure to keep a log and if negative effects return dont be afraid to stop taking things completely.

Also since you mentioned mood, l-tryptophan is the precursor the body uses to make both niacin and serotonin, it helped me in the past when I was in a rut by taking .5g between meals (5-htp is vastly inferior in my opinion). As long as niacin+pira is working i wouldnt add anything new tho.

I've been through the entire non-responder thread. I too am a responder, but get negative effects. Today was my first day having an amazing day on piracetam and the only thing I did different was take niacin because I haven't flushed in a while. I started with 300mg (flushing kind) crushed up and dissolved in water then titrated up in 150mg increments until I started to flush. All I can say is wow! I haven't felt this good since my adderall days. +1 niacin & piracetam.

Very much interesting ,or simply niacin deficiency on some ?

Is safe to take large dose every day ,i have heard experience that someone gone to very deep depression by take large dose Niacin + Piracetam .

Piracetam improve brain blood flow on under circumstance ,plus niacin might gone to very dangerous threshold.

I also am negative responder .

hmm... I would like to see some more information on that. Usually niacin is good for depression.

I could be wrong though.
